If so, then you've come to the right place!General SummaryResponsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining the project job cost and controls systems for field operations, for the corporation, to ensure compliance with and continuous improvement of company policies, procedures, and operational needs through entire project lifecycle.This position is open to all Granite office locations. Essential Job Accountabilities * Provide oversight of project control functions including policy, process and procedures associated with overall operational needs and requirements in furtherance of company objectives. * Provide functional advice, coordination, training, and support to project and business managers and staff in the development, implementation, and maintenance of systems and processes to ensure that data collected can provide information that allows sound decisions to be made in furtherance of company objectives. * Actively participate in IT development and implementation teams for projects associated with project controls systems as required by job function (SharePoint, PowerBI, ERP, Job Cost, estimating, scheduling, etc.) to maintain best in class project controls tools for the projects portfolio. * Liaison with Corporate departments (including General Accounting, Payroll, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Tax, etc.) to maximize efficiencies and effectiveness for overall company business operations * Facilitate the coordination between Business Operations and Project Controls, including corporate, group and regional business functions to ensure that compliance requirements are implemented where applicable through Project Controls systems. * Establish and monitor project startup and budgeting, for newly acquired projects, to ensure compliance with established standards. * Train and develop project staff; including Project Managers, Engineers, and Field Supervision; on job cost & forecasting tools and techniques to ensure optimal use of project controls tools and techniques. * Train/review project procedures and processes, during job start up cycle, to ensure that projects run efficiently * Provide project controls system technical support and training for new and existing employees to implement best practice recommendations throughout the company. * Review/approve budget & contract change orders, as required, prior to entry into cost system in conjunction with overall management of job cost functions of both direct and indirect reports, to ensure completeness and accuracy of project baseline data * Monitor and review monthly and/or quarterly large projects forecasts and best practices, as required to ensure compliance with company requirements. * Special projects and other duties as assigned by Director-Project Controls. Education * Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or Business Administration * Master's degree preferredWork Experience * 10+ yrs of construction related cost engineering experienceKnowledge, skills, and abilities * Expert understanding of the application of project controls in the construction environment * Ability to provide guidance and development for all stakeholders of the business and project controls functions * Thorough knowledge of estimating, cost, & planning systems, practices, and procedures such as HeavyBid, Oracle Enterprise 1 (JD Edwards) * Expert understanding of Project Management workflows and systems such as SharePoint, HeavyJob, Procore, Plangrid. * Ability to provide guidance and development for all stakeholders of the business and project controls functions from foremen to Project Managers * Superior analytical and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated ability to provide creative solutions to real-time challenges * Ability to manage multiple priorities with a close attention to detail * Exceptional problem-solving skills with consistent follow through * Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, PowerBI and latest industry recognized programs * Self-starter; able to seek out resources and structure own workflow * Ability to work well with all levels of staff as well as external customers * Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills * Ability to work in high production environment and respond quickly and effectively under pressure and deadlines * Advanced written and oral communication skills to effectively disseminate information * * Must be an effective speaker and trainer in both small and large settings.Physical Demands * The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. * While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. * The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, sit and use hands to operate a computer keyboard. * The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms. * The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. * Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus. * Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Additional Requirements/Skills * Comply, understand, and support corporate safety initiatives to ensure a safe work environment * Ability and willingness to abide by Granite's Code of Conduct on a daily basis * Valid driver's license and ability to drive for extended periods of time * Frequent travel will be required.Our Benefits at a Glance:Building tomorrow starts with you, and Granite knows that you can excel only if we support you in and out of the workplace.
