Townsen Memorial Hospital is looking to hire a PRN Endoscopy Technician for our facility in Houston, TX! This position will be r esponsible for working alongside of the physician during endoscopic procedures and assisting in room turnover. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Organizes the workflow, problem solves and manages multiple ongoing priorities Identifies and follows manufactures instructions to sort, disassemble, decontaminate, rinse and disinfect instrumentation, flexible scopes, and equipment Adheres to the proper handling of garbage, linen, and biohazardous materials Facilitates room turnovers Follows manufacturers recommendations for sterilization methods Properly handles sterile product and ensures stock is places in the proper location Consistently makes rounds through the operating rooms and confirms instrumentation needs are met Troubleshoots problems and repairs KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Knowledge of Medical Terminology Demonstrates strong knowledge of sterile technique related to operating room preparation and procedures Demonstrates proficiency in medical and surgical technology Demonstrates strong knowledge of operating equipment and supplies EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Formal training as operating room technician or Endoscopy Technician preferred One or more years recent clinical experience as Operating Room Technician or Endoscopy Technician preferred Current BLS Must complete additional educational requirements as assigned by due dates Please visit our website for more information: https://townsenmemorial.com Compensation to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
